Welcome
to the
official Friends of SP 4449's
website, we're a non-profit organization dedicated to the restoration,
maintenance, and operation of the former Southern Pacific steam
locomotive based in Portland, Oregon.
Hi folks! We're headed to Owosso, Michigan for Train Festival 2009, and
hope to you can see us along the way! This event is a major fundraiser
for a number of steam locomotives involved, such as the SP 4449, MILW
261, PM 1225, NKP 765, etc. We hope you bought your ticket to ride on
board one of the excursion trains, but you can also support the
locomotives by purchasing items from the concessions stand at the
event, or make a donation!
In the meantime, please understand that while we are on the road we
will have limited access to our email and website. For the latest
information on our schedule, routing, GPS tracking, directions to our

Footage Wanted! - link
Marcam
Productions have produced great DVDs of SP 4449 in action, and proceeds
go to the non-profit Friends of SP 4449 organization! They will have
several crews following the SP 4449 on her cross
country trip to Michigan, and while we help them produce a great
production, they are always interested in including more
great footage from others. Contact Marcam Productions if you have High
Definition
footage they can buy rights to. What they are looking for...
- HD format, HDV and AVCHD are both acceptable
- Well composed, well lit shots of SP
4449 in action
- Shots must be tripod mounted and steady
- Zooming is discouraged; any pan should be steady
- Good Audio
Have a great video shot and want to help support the 4449?
